You’ve been told to say it with flowers.
Do you know what you are saying?

We are surrounded with symbols. These symbols have meanings, sometimes dating back to the earliest records of human history. Throughout civilization, flowers remain an intricate expression of emotion and feeling. A handful of daisies or a dozen long-stemmed roses entice passion in the soul. The fragrances of creation can overwhelm one’s senses launching the spirit into an ecstasy of life.

Although unknown to most, flowers have very specific meanings. Why do we have national flowers? What use is the poppy? What is the significance of mistletoe? The evolution of these meanings have developed into intensely varied definitions. Inferred through superstition and ancient lore to the physical nature of the plant, flowers have gained purpose for emblems, crests and celebrations of life and death.

Mixed with poetry, facts and notable quotations, The Ancient Language of Flowers gives you the meaning of over 700 flowers and flowering plants, cross referenced by meaning or name. Interwoven with over 50 illustrations, this book

The Ancient Language of Flowers Review
It's a reference guide and I think it has value for authors that want to step up their style.

Cover
The cover is minimal and yet it's pretty pretty good. It's simple and yet effective in what it wasn't to portray.
Interior
I found this book really interesting. It was really nice touch adding National, State, Provincial, and Western Astrological flowers. I have to give the book credit all the flowers are in alphabetical order but it also goes in alphabetical order by meaning as well if that's what you need. I loved that while going through the facts one by one it can feel monotonous. (Like reading through a dictionary.) It is broken up by factual snippets, classic flower poetry, and philosophy. It not often you gat biblical theology, Shakespeare/classical poetry and historical superstitions combined into one book While it is focused on flowers it goes into more than that covering fruits, vegetables, and also trees.
