Sherry Sikstrom

Born and raised in Alberta farm country I began my writing journey at a young age, winning a poetry competition as a child. I then stopped writing for many years until my muse was awakened by thoughts feelings and experiences in my life as a Mental Health worker/educator, an Equine assisted learning facilitator and of course a farmer. My life with horses and love of nature have led me to tell my story in prose, poetry and photography. My first books "Telling tails", followed by "Tails Trails and Campfire Stories", then "Cowgirl Logic its not just about the horses", are all collections of "cowgirl poetry, they are followed but "What's in your Kit?" a simple amusing guide to farm first aid, and my newest collection, a series of children's books "Tell Me a Story" titles , such as "Why, Mother Earth and Farther Sky" and "Tell Me a story , Skeeter"

In a society that has become jaded and cynical, I am called to share stories and reminders of a simpler time, where a person's word was accepted as bond, and we treated people with a gentle sense of community
